Asian American Leadership Conference

Afternoon Workshops

Speaker: Jonathan Holmes
Title: “Caring for Members through Abuse and Trauma”

Description: Abuse and trauma seem to be popping up everywhere. Oftentimes church leaders are confused about how to understand these issues, but nonetheless want to offer godly concern and care. In this workshop, we’ll discuss some big picture principles on abuse and trauma and seek to offer gospel hope and counsel for those in need.

Speaker: Matthew Kim
Title: “Finding Our Voice: A Vision for Asian American Preaching”

Description: This workshop speaks into an issue that has largely been ignored: preaching in Asian American contexts. We will work through hermeneutics, theology, and homiletics and explore the importance of culturally sensitive and contextualized sermons for Asian American listeners.

Speaker: Paul Kim
Title: Asian American Church Planting
