John Kim
John is married to his college sweetheart, Angela since June 1989 and has four adult daughters. John and Angela are also grandparents to two grandsons who live in Tennessee with their parents.
John was in pastoral ministry since 1987 and served in the Korean American immigrant church until 1998. Church planting became the journey from 1998 to 2025 as churches were planted in San Diego, San Jose, and Los Angeles under Lighthouse Bible Church. John recently stepped down from pastoral ministry after almost 38 years and is now serving with The Master’s Academy International as Asia Regional Coordinator and Consultant for the Center for Biblical Missions. He also serves with the Master’s Fellowship as Director of Pastoral Care and Director of Asian American Ministries.
He went to UCLA for undergrad and then The Master’s Seminary to earn a Master’s of Divinity in 1991. He recently received his Doctor of Ministry in Asian American Ministries from Talbot School of Theology in 2023.
John and Angela are now empty nesters, enjoy evening walks with their dog Romeo, and have been getting reconnected with their Korean roots by going to Korea the past two summers and watching Korean dramas on Netflix.
